At 10:40 am CDT (1540 GMT), CBOT December wheat was up 1/2 cent at $3.26 per bushel, with deferred months up 1/2 to 8 cents.
R.J. O'Brien was a featured early buyer of 500 December contracts, while Refco Inc and Prudential bought 200 December. Rand Financial sold at the opening bell, briefly pressuring prices, traders said.
A senior Iraqi trade official on Wednesday said Iraq bought a total of 1 million tonnes of US wheat from Columbia Grain and Louis Dreyfus at $190 per tonne.
